Giants On Record: Anomalous Skeletons in the Academic Literature

In this webinar Hugh will share his research on the thousands of giant skeletons that have been found in North America and look at the phenomenon based upon the written evidence in the academic record. News reports of giants could be exaggerated or even lies to sell newspapers, but when the academics repeat the same descriptions of oversized, powerful skeletons over a 100 year period in different parts of the country, the study of ‘giantology’ must be taken seriously. Hugh will share some examples of the writings of doctors, professors and heads of major institutions discussing their interaction with giant skeletons, massive jaws and double rows of teeth.

Thank you, everybody. I don't know if you can see me waving, but hello, hello. I'm currently at my friend's house in Cardiff, Wales at the moment, where actually many giants have been discovered. So this short lecture today for Ancient Origins is based on the work from this book, you can see also here, Giants on Record, America's Hidden History, Secrets in the Mounds, and the Smithsonian Files, looking at this very strange phenomenon of oversized skeletons that have been found throughout North America, and also more specifically in the mound culture, actually within the mounds themselves, suggesting indeed this potentially over 100,000 mounds that have been recorded that they were the instigators and builders of this phenomenon in North America. And we know that now we know that there was an elite really of these giants who kind of ruled perhaps the tribes and they constructed the mounds under their guidance. And the geometry, the astronomy, and the sophistication and metrology and other anomalies that have been found within these mounds and earthworks do really suggest a very advanced culture. And fortunately, they left the mound sites for us to work that out today. And also the graves within the mounds, often very deep beneath ground level, many of these giants were found in, sometimes in stone lying chambers.
So I just want to give you a quick outline of what we're going to look at today. So that is basically the male culture, the giant builders, but they've also been found in New England and in different parts of the country, all the way over to California. And with Jim Vieira's other research, we realize it's also a global phenomenon, but it is really centered in North America. Now, many of you will probably have seen these photos. You can see in the slide here, all over the internet, in journals, books, and other places. But unfortunately, even though these get tagged as real giant archaeological digs, They are all, in fact, hoaxes.
They're not exactly what you think they are. This was a competition back in 2002 by the Worth 1000 website to create an archaeological Photoshop image, and they focused on giants. Unfortunately, there's been other hoaxes since then, obviously, but be careful, because what we're looking at here is actually quite a serious subject that's been, we think, deliberately deleted from history. Actually, the people who may have done that we're going to look at closely in this short lecture. I didn't know you may have seen on the ancient origins website, this was with Jim Vieira, and we did a top 10 giants discovered in North America.
And this is just some of the examples and sizes you can see all the way from average height of around six feet, up to a staggering 18 feet, although that is under scrutiny that particular one, but we do know for a fact Their skeletons definitely go up to 12 feet tall, which is quite remarkable. And actually, just very recently, I found examples matching that height in England, which I'm researching currently as we speak. But all over North America, we find these newspaper reports, thousands of them, in fact. Jim and I have collected at least 1,000 accounts.
This was also inspired by the work of Ross Hamilton, who wrote a fantastic book, A Tradition of Giants. We have to credit him because he was the inspiration for us to really tackle this subject on a scale all over North America. But it's not just the news accounts we're looking at here.
We're going to look at some of these. This is put together. This is the map of where giants have been mainly found. This is put together by a wonderful researcher called Seahall, and you can see the details of how she did all this on her blog. But this is an incomplete map now.
We have hundreds more to go on here. So it is quite a strange phenomenon. But with so many newspaper accounts, the real problem has been, are they sensationalized? Are they made up? Are they just put out there to sell newspaper stories? Indeed, we have chased some of these accounts, these news accounts from well-known newspapers down to their source and found, indeed, some of them are hoaxes. And we do cover that in the book. There's authors Greg Little and Andrew Collins in their Path of Souls book do the same thing. They analyze certain accounts, find the source, and find their indeed hoaxes, even some of the more famous ones. But before we get into those, there's some other interesting academic types who traveled the world and witnessed some of these giants firsthand. This is Sir Francis Drake who came over from England in 1578. And one of his travels that was written about in the World Encompassed came out in 1628, written by his nephew. He went all the way down to the South American tip, almost going into Antarctica, and witnessed some Patagonian giants, and he placed them at seven foot six inches tall. But after that, he continued up north and went into North America, up to roughly the area of San Francisco.
